SONOMA, Calif. (Oct. 1, 2012) – Sonoma Raceway hosted nearly 30 local business leaders for a quarterly meeting of the Climate Protection Campaign on Thursday.
The raceway, which is a sponsor of the Climate Protection Campaign, utilized the event to highlight its own sustainable efforts, including a 1,700-panel Panasonic solar installation, as well as the recently-unveiled Sustainable Performance Ranking Metric. The Climate Protection Campaign works to inspire, align, and mobilize action in response to the climate crisis. It partners with business, government, youth and the broader community to advance practical, science-based solutions for significant greenhouse gas emission reductions.
“It was exciting for the Climate Protection Campaign to host their meeting here today, and we always like exploring unlikely or surprising subjects, like the raceway. We encourage all businesses to do what they can, and it’s great to see that the raceway is making a difference and promoting its green efforts,” said Barry Vesser, deputy director for the Climate Protection Campaign. “Business is the driver of innovation, so getting businesses together and developing policies that make sense for business and the environment is the best path forward.”
